The Scout Motto

What is the first thing a Cub Scout Learns?

Scout Promise Scout Law

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

A Scout is
trustworthy, loyal, helpful,
friendly, courteous, kind,
obedient, cheerful, thrifty,
brave, clean, and reverent.

Cub Scout Motto The Outdoor Code

Do Your Best

As an American, I will do my best to -
Be clean in my outdoor manners.
Be careful with fire.
Be considerate in the outdoors.
Be conservation minded.

What makes Scouting great?

The Scout Promise and the Scout Law were written over 100 years ago, and in that time there has not been a single change or modification to these two pillars of Scouting. Some concepts are timeless and Scouting is still as relevant and important today as it was 100 years ago to develop tomorrow's leaders. If you are interested in signing up for Cub Scouts or have questions we can answer for you about scouting then please fill out and submit the form at our Thinking About Scouts and Pack 592 page.
